Telebrineller System - Portable Brinell Tester

Telebrineller System - Portable Brinell Tester

The Industry Standard for Field Hardness Testing

The Telebrineller System is a major achievement in quality assurance, developed to meet the rigorous demands of field welding and metallurgy. Backed by over 50 years of experience, this portable Brinell tester delivers laboratory-grade accuracy in a lightweight, weatherproof package.

Whether you are in the field, at the plant, or in the lab, the Telebrineller system provides immediate, irrefutable BHN (Brinell Hardness Number) determinations without the need for delicate equipment or complex training.

Why Choose the Telebrineller System?

  • Certified Accuracy: The system uses core test bars calibrated to a uniform hardness of ±3% of the labeled BHN. All equipment is traceable to National Standards Institute certifications. The included Leica microscope ensures readings within .05 millimeters.
  • Ultimate Portability: Weighing less than 10 lbs (4.5 kg) in its carrying case, this system is easily transported to remote locations, pipelines, or construction sites.
  • Weatherproof & Rugged: Designed for the real world. There are no fragile components or delicate adjustments. The system delivers accurate measurements in all weather conditions and rough environments.
  • Simple Operation: No special training is required. With one hammer blow and a quick calculation, anyone can determine BHN accurately in minutes.

Principle of Operation

The system utilizes a comparative method for guaranteed accuracy:

  1. Preparation: Insert a Test Bar (1) of known BHN into the instrument. Place the instrument's anvil (2) encased in the rubber head (3) against the specimen.
  2. The Strike: Strike the anvil sharply with a 3-5 lb hammer. The impact is transmitted equally through the impression ball (5) to both the Test Bar and the specimen.
  3. Measurement: Use the Leica Microscope to measure the diameter of the impressions on both the Test Bar and the specimen.
  4. Calculation: Calculate the BHN using the provided computer/calculator or the simple formula:
(Test Bar BHN) × (Test Bar Impression / Specimen Impression)² = Specimen BHN.

What's Included in the Kit?

1. 5 Selected Hardness Bars
Calibrated to ±2% of labeled BHN. Traceable to National Standards.
2. Rugged Microscope
Includes flashlight and batteries. Built for field durability with high optical clarity.
3. Calculation Computer
Simplifies the math, allowing for instant hardness determination without complex formulas.
4. Bar Holder & Calculation Pad
Includes robust holder for testing and pads for recording data in the field.
